Preparing a photo for a funeral
Choosing a photo often has to be done quickly, and the one that feels right isn't always the sharpest. The tool restores a photo in a few seconds: face rebuilt, contrast recovered, grain cleaned. You get an HD file you can use straight away, and a print or frame if time allows.

Choosing and digitising the photo
- A face seen front-on, large enough
If you're torn between photos, choose the one where the face looks towards the camera and fills a good part of the picture: that's the one the tool rebuilds best.
- A group photo works too
You can crop to the person in the Studio. Digitise the whole photo, as large as possible.
- No filter, no flash
Photograph the print flat by a window, or use a scanner. Don't edit the image before uploading it.
Depending on the time you have
- 1. Restore Upload the photo: restoration takes a few seconds. Compare with the before/after slider.
- 2. Colour or black and white Both can be redone for free from the photo's page. Black and white or sepia is often the quieter choice.
- 3. Service very soon Download the HD photo (€1.99) and give the file to your local printer or the funeral director helping you.
- 4. A few days ahead Order a 10×15 cm print, a 20×25 cm fine art print or a frame by express: delivery in 4–7 days, production included.
What the tool does well, and what it misses
- Good: a clearer face The face is rebuilt and blended back into the photo, and automatic framing for a print centres on it.
- Good: speed A few seconds per photo, and the HD file is available as soon as it's unlocked.
- Worth knowing: a very blurred face is partly reinterpreted Look carefully at the preview, or ask someone close to check it, to be sure the likeness is there.
- Worth knowing: scratches and creases A strong crease or scratch across the face stays visible. If so, choose another photo if you have one.
Frequently asked questions
Can you deliver by tomorrow?
No. Prints and frames are made and then shipped: allow 4–7 days by express. For a service very soon, the HD file, available straight away, can be printed locally.
What size works for the service?
The HD file is up to 3,200 pixels on the long side, which generally suits a portrait on an easel or in an order of service. For a frame, see framing an old photo.
I'd also like prints for the family, later.
There's no rush. Uploaded photos are deleted automatically 7 days after upload: keep your HD file, and upload it again to order 10×15 cm prints (€1.90 each) or a frame whenever you're ready. Tracked delivery is free from €39.
